Respite care

Respite Care, a break to enjoy

Respite Care is an opportunity for a person who has a carer or needs assistance or support services to try Cooinda for a short break.

You can plan respite or come in the case of an emergency.   Furthermore, it can help if you wish to have a break from caring for yourself or your carer is unwell or going away.

Your time in short term care will offer you an opportunity to experience Cooinda’s delivery of services and care.  Our experienced care team will help you with showering, mobility and your personal care needs.   You’ll also enjoy Maggie Beer inspired meals, nutritious and cooked on site using fresh, local produce.

Furthermore, join in the fun with our Health and Wellbeing activities, gentle exercise and entertainment, during your stay. Perhaps you will also meet new friends or rekindle some old friendships with people who already live in Cooinda.

Are you carer? It’s important you remember your own wellbeing.  Cooinda’s respite care is a great option if you wish to take a break and relax.  You can have peace of mind knowing your loved one is being well cared for whilst you’re away.

We can offer up to 63 days of respite to an individual each year.  Furthermore, care is usually taken in blocks of 2-4 weeks depending on your needs.

Contact us to make a time to visit Cooinda and book your respite.

To be eligible for Respite Care you will need an Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) assessment.  You can find out more about ACAS at the My Aged Care website.
