Saturday marked a very special milestone in Cooinda’s journey as we officially celebrated the Grand Opening of our brand new building, Rossmore House!
Across three sessions throughout the day, we welcomed residents and their families, community guests, staff, volunteers and members of the public to experience something truly different in aged care. The feedback has been incredible, and we’re so proud to share this unique space with you all.
Rossmore House features Nissan Lane, our very own ‘main street’ – a beautifully designed indoor space with a café, general store, salon and craft centre, all created to bring the nostalgic feel of a traditional shopping strip right to our residents, without ever needing to leave Cooinda.
Guests also explored our stunning new reception, admission room, offices, meeting spaces, board and training room, resident bedrooms, lounge areas, activity spaces and a calming reflection room.
What began as a vision in our master plan many years ago has now become a reality, thanks to the dedication of our past and current Board members, and our past and current CEO. This project is a testament to years of planning, passion, and belief in delivering aged care differently.
The Cooinda Café was a clear favourite on the day, buzzing with activity and bringing people together. Our amazing cooks kept everyone well fed with a delicious array of food and sweets, while the café team handled the crowd with ease (and smiles!), guided by our Hotel Services Manager and also the talented Jason from Merchant Coffee Roasters in Mansfield, who will be supplying us with our beautiful coffee beans.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited, supported, and celebrated this moment with us. We look forward to officially opening Rossmore House in the coming weeks once our reception relocates.
