Care Staff

Meet our Care Staff

We have a team of over 80 qualified and experienced nurses and personal care assistants.  Each of our care staff members undertake annual training to ensure you receive the latest care available.

Kathryn Currie 1Kathryn Currie – Registered Nurse
I started working at Cooinda as a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) in 2004. I then completed my Bachelor of Nursing via distance education, so I could work while studying. I returned to Cooinda after graduating because of the fantastic team culture.  It’s a happy place for staff and residents.  I’ve been at Cooinda for 13 years now and have seen so many positive changes.  I don’t know how I’d ever leave our ‘Cooinda family’.

Each day brings a lot of enjoyment to the people we care for and our staff at Cooinda. Our Health and Wellbeing Team ensure there is always a fun activity that brings laughter and smiles to everyone.  I really enjoy caring for our residents and getting to know their different personalities.  It is personally satisfying to know I have made a positive difference to a person’s life working at Cooinda – hopefully, more than one.

Heather Ross – Personal Care Attendant
The Cooinda community to which I belong is amazing.  It feels like being a part of a family.  To be able to provide care and support to our residents is a pleasure and a privilege.  Also the support that I receive from other staff members both professionally and personally is beyond compare.  I’m so proud to be a part of the great Cooinda team.

Rhonda Stafford – Personal Care Attendant
I feel blessed to be a part of Cooinda, an extension of our community.  Every member of staff works as part of a team to provide professional care to all our wonderful residents in a vibrant, engaging and supportive environment.

Garry Singh – Personal Care Attendant
For me, working at Cooinda is like coming home. We have a real sense of community and homelike feel that welcomes our residents and staff.   I became a PCA because I really enjoy caring for older people. It gives me a feeling of bringing me closer to my parents and grandparents.  It’s also great to be a member of the Cooinda team, who are friendly and always there for me.
